No hassle consenting and installation process .

SKYPOD has been purpose designed to make the consenting and installation simple and hassle free.

A standardised module design allows us to take a “cookie cutter” approach and reuse tried and tested process that we know work – and work well. Our 6-step process will walk you the build process, ensuring that the end product is safe, compliant and defect free.

Step 1: Desktop Assessment

We can complete an assessment of your proposed site using GNS, satellite and council data.  This process identifies issues around consenting, access, site services that we need to consider.

You will be supplied with a basic site plan, program and cost estimate for the project.

Step 2: Site Visit

If the project is looking viable, the next step will be completing a physical site visit.  Our installer will meet you on site to walk through the proposed plans and consider issues (such as the location of protected native trees) that can’t be assessed online.

The site visit allows the install to prepare a fixed price quotation.

Step 3: Contracting

If you are happy with our quotation, we will progress to contracting.

This process identifies any costs you are up for and when these costs are payable.  It will also be your opportunity to decide on any product upgrades such as decks, furniture and Pergola.

The contract will include a detailed payment schedule.

Step 4: Consent Application

Unlike many of our competitors, SKYPOD fully meets the NZ Building code and can gain Code Compliance.

Our architects will apply for Resource Consent and Building Consent on your behalf, ensuring that your application complies with all applicable council and NZBC requirements

Step 5: Construction

Once the Building Consent is issued, the fun begins!  The site works will be completed in parallel with the module being manufactured – effectively halving the time of traditional building.

The SKYPOD will be trucked to site and lifted on to the foundations in minutes.  The install team will then take a couple of days to connect the site service and install any exterior item such as the rainscreen.

Step 6: Completion and Code Compliance

With 95%+ of the QC checks done in factory, and the site works completed prior to the module’s arrival on site, the final council sign off inspection is typically fast.   Our installer will complete a final clean, ready for handover to you.

Code Compliance typically takes 20 working days to be issued by the council.  We can issue you a Certificate for Public Use (CPU) that will allow you to use the building until the Code compliance certificate is released.
